April 5, 2024 – Brant Edgington of Fremont, Neb., won $1 million playing Mega Millions from the Nebraska Lottery.

Edgington bought his ticket at Baker’s #323, located in Fremont at 1531 N Bell St. Five fast pick plays for the drawing on March 22 were included in the ticket; one of them matched all five winning numbers (03, 08, 31, 35, and 44) but not the Mega Ball (16).
Edgington stated that he really only plays when the jackpot gets large and wasn’t planning to purchase a ticket at all, despite the fact that his dad and grandfather are huge Mega Millions and Powerball players. After stopping by Baker’s to pick up a prepared salad for lunch the next day, he made the decision to wager a little amount of money on Mega Millions.
He chose to stay even though there was someone paying in a stack of Scratch tickets before him. Edgington didn’t check at his tickets until the following Saturday.
He requested a clerk to examine the examine-a-Ticket scanner because he was having some difficulty getting it to read. “They vanished for a moment,” he remarked. Then another woman approached her, and both of them just fixed their gaze on me. “Don’t pass out when I tell you this,” she warned me.
After sustaining some injuries, Edgington traveled to the Nebraska Lottery’s Lincoln headquarters on April 5 to pick up his winnings.
Despite his victory, he is unsure if he will continue to play in the long run. He added, “I don’t play all that often.” “Baloney is more important, financially, as a single parent.”
There are now 45 state lotteries, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands that offer the multi-state jackpot game Mega Millions. The odds of winning any prize in Mega Millions are 1 in 24, but the odds of winning $1 million are 1 in 12,607,306.
